One year ago, on November 1st, 2020, I started my blog. I shared my first post about The Wilson House of Horror in the midst of a pandemic! How crazy is that? Well, for me, it was crazy. I am completely unaccustomed to putting myself out there and sharing my thoughts and feelings with the world. However, I’ve always wanted to build something that was just my own.

I wanted to put a project or something special out into the world, and I wanted it to be a really good thing. I think blogging is a great way to do so. I have so many thoughts and feelings on different subjects, and so many things that I have experienced or plan to experience, and I love sharing them on this blog. Join me in celebrating one year of Life with DW!

When I started my blog, the plan was to share a post every week about How-To’s, Career and Education, Advice, and miscellaneous lifestyle experiences. I wanted to plan everything out, take a ton of photos to share, and hopefully attract a lot of interest in my blog. I also wanted to share with the hope that someone reading this blog would find some comfort in it, which is still a major goal. As this last year has passed, I feel that my blog hasn’t really grown, but I have. Personal growth – an unexpected but not surprising result of starting Life with DW.

While I don’t have a ton of subscribers on my blog or socials, I know that what I have shared does resonate with some. However, I find that just writing these blog posts and creating videos and photos that I post on social media is really cathartic for me. I find so much joy in working on these things for fun! Life with DW has really helped my confidence to grow, and I have been learning more and more about the things I am interested in. I have also grown in other ways, but there is still a lot that I am learning and working on, both socially and personally. As a result of discovering new interests, I have started a YouTube channel so I could post all of my videos in one spot, and I have been working on creating resin art to sell on Etsy.
